BODY CAMERA FOOTAGE OF OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the body camera footage of the Damian Daniels’ officer involved shooting that occurred on August 20, 2020.
This comes after Sheriff Javier Salazar and Bexar County Commissioners discussed updated body camera footage and updated software to be able to easily edit videos and release to the public in a timely manner.  

Today, the case against the deputies involved in this officer involved shooting went to the Grand Jury and all three deputies were no-billed. This concludes the final investigation on this incident, therefore allowing the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office to release the body camera footage without hindering any investigations.

To continue to remain transparent with the community, the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office will be releasing the body camera footage of the Officer Involved Shooting of Damian Daniels.
 
The video includes 911 calls made to the Sheriff’s Office regarding Damian Daniels, video footage of Deputy John Rodriguez speaking to Damian Daniels’ family members during the incident, and the video of all three deputies’ body camera footage on scene during this incident.
 
The video also includes the shooting of Damian Daniels’, viewer discretion is advised, the video contains graphic content.
 
Note: All materials presented in this video have been redacted and edited in an effort to protect privacy rights  and to avoid the release of information that state law prohibits the department from releasing. Such redactions or edits do not affect the depiction of events presented in this video.
